| During the war small change was a worldwide problem, NAAFI oulets issued tokens to solve this problem. France was the first place that these tokens were issued. The first token issued was the 1/2 franc and came in four different designs, these tokens were for use in NAAFI's only. These tokens were initially struck, then printed on brown laminated plastic by Thomas De La Rue. Later the 1/2 and 1 penny token was issued for use with British Armed Forces special vouchers. |
